Tomato Plant Care – Some Tips on How to Grow Tomato Plants Well

There are some tips on how to grow tomato plants well. These are the things that we need to consider and remember. Although tomato plants have different varieties, there are still general tips to grow them all.

  1. Determinate plants are best for canning and produce a heavier yield.

  10. There are two common problems with tomato plants. These are “leaf roll” and “white shoulders”. Leaf roll is due to too much fertilizer or herbicide spray. White shoulders are caused by too high temperature.
  11. If tomato plants are tied on stake at least four feet tall, they will produce better fruits. All plants that are determinate must be staked.
  12. You should pull up your tomatoes and hang them upside down before the first frost. You will notice that many of the green tomatoes will ripen. Keep them dry or else mold will occur.
